I am a 21 year old female whi is currently 17 weeks pregnant. I had a dream that my boyfriend who has never done anything to hurt me had killed someone while thinking it was me. He cut their head off thinking it was my foot he cut off and he did something else I just cant remember what. Then the dream jumped to him being taken by police who had randomly appeared and I was told he had killed twice before. My sister had messagex me on snapchat with a screenshot from newsbreak. It said he had killed Once when he was 11 and once at 15 but they had been ruled accidental until now. My partner has never been violent although my ex was. And this dream felt very very real. After he was taken away I had shown up wearing a coat I've had for years which weirdly never shows up in dreams. And jeans. I begged the people at the "courthouse" which honestly looked more like a library to let me talk to the judge about reducing his sentence because I was sure he just had an episode of extreme psychosis. When I talked to the judge they wouldnt listen to me and I got mad and smacked the judge. They put me in cuffs and took me to the jail where I got taken to a cafeteria and it was like a flashback to elementary school with all my friends at the ages we are today. Then I woke up. I definitely missed a few details but I cannot remember exactly what they are
Dreams, especially those that feel incredibly real and vivid, often serve as a way for our subconscious to process emotions, experiences, and fears. Your dream seems rich in symbolism and emotion, and here is one way to interpret it:
Feeling of Vulnerability and Fear: Your dream starts with your boyfriend committing a violent act, mistaking someone else for you. In dreams, this can reflect feelings of vulnerability. Being 17 weeks pregnant, it is natural to have heightened emotions and fears about the future, including concerns about safety and protection. Although your boyfriend has never been violent, your mind might be projecting your past experiences with your ex onto him, mixing subconscious fears about being hurt or let down.
Trust and Reassurance: Your partner’s actions in the dream contradict his real-life behavior. This contradiction could represent inner conflict about trust and your own ability to rely on someone completely, especially with your history and the big changes occurring in your life.
Snapchat and News Reports: The use of digital communication like Snapchat and a news report highlights the influence of societal perceptions and external messages in your life. It could suggest feeling overwhelmed by outside opinions or the fear of being judged based on others' past actions rather than their current behavior.
Justice, Authority, and Power: The courthouse appearing like a library could symbolize a knowledge or truth that feels unreachable or difficult to comprehend. Smacking the judge and ending up in cuffs may reflect feelings of frustration about not being heard or being misunderstood by authority figures in your life. This could connect to a sense of losing control or the fear of not being able to influence important decisions.
Return to Childhood and Reflection: Ending up back in a setting reminiscent of elementary school with your current friends could symbolize a desire for simpler times or comfort in familiarity. It might also be a reflection of your inner child exploring current relationships and emotional dynamics.
Pregnancy and New Beginnings: Pregnancy is a time of transformation and anticipation, often bringing mixed emotions about the impending responsibilities and changes. Your dream encapsulates an overlap between past fears, present anxieties, and a future filled with uncertainties. The coat and jeans symbolize grounding elements, linking to your past but not commonly appearing in dreams, suggesting a need for stability and continuity amid change.
Overall, your dream may be expressing your subconscious processing of past traumas, concerns about protection and security, and a need for reassurance and stability as you navigate this transformative period in your life. It would be beneficial to talk about these emotional experiences with your partner, a counselor, or a supportive figure in your life, to address any underlying fears or anxieties.
